Cross Country Safaris in Kenya

Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in the early morning and drive up the main Mombasa-Nairobi highway entering Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate for a game drive before proceeding to Tsavo West arriving in time for Lunch at Ngulia Bandas Safari Camp. Spend the afternoon exploring the park with a visit of the Mzima Springs(filtered water from Chyulu Hills gushing out into a series of clear pools from below a lava ridge. The pool water is so clear that you can actually see the goings on under water!

Day 2

Early morning game drive plus breakfast then proceed along the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway to Lake Nakuru with a break for lunch at Jacaranda hotel arriving in the late afternoon giving you a chance for searching and sighting animals on the way to the lodge. This park is famous for the millions of Flamingoes who flock the lake year round . Besides the rich birdlife, this is a popular place to encounter leopards, is a designated rhino sanctuary and home of the Rothchild giraffes.

Day 3

Wake up to an early morning Game Drive and back to the lodge for breakfast. Don your sporting gear and lace up your sporting shoes for after breakfast you will drive along Nairobi-Eldoret highway to visit one of the high altitude athletees training camps and get to enjoy seeing some of the activities that they go through to make them world champion holders. You will get a chance to meet and jog alongside(optional) long distance runners such as the 5 times world marathon record holder Paul Tergat, Moses Tanui, Felix Limo, Martin Lel, Joshua Chelana to name a few. Here you will get an insight into the life of all the renowned long distance runners while they prepare for their international races. Kenya is well known for winning in the marathon and cross country races. You will then proceed to enjoy a mouth watering lunch before driving back to Lake Nakuru to arrive in time for dinner.

Day 4

After breakfast depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara a land of diverse habitats(Open plains, Marshes and Forests). It plays a host to natures wonder:- the annual wildbeeste migration, where millions of wildebeeste plus other herbivores and their predators cross from Serengeti National Park to the Mara. This park is home to the ‘Big Five’ and the legendary Masai tribe. Game sighting with chance encounter of Masai herding their cattle enroute arriving in time for lunch(the Masai believe that all cattle in the world was handed down to them by God). Afternoon game drive.

Day 5

Enjoy your morning at leisure having breakfast at the Lodge thereafter proceed on a midmorning game drive returning back to the Lodge in time for Lunch. Take a siesta or enjoy an afternoon swim in the pool at the Lodge and thereafter proceed for an afternoon Game drive till sunset.

Day 6

After breakfast depart Masai Mara for Amboseli with a break for lunch at Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi. Drive via Namanga(a Kenya Tanzania border town)into Amboseli National Park set at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park is best known for its herds of elephants, tree climbing lions and magnificient views of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro(best seen in the early morning or just around sunset). Game sighting on the way to the lodge.

Day 7

You will have an early morning Game Drive before coming back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast take a farewell game drive that will take you into Tsavo East to Voi Wildlife lodge for lunch before driving back to Mombasa to be dropped off at your coastal hotel in the early evening.
