Half Day Mombasa Tour

Mombasa TourThe tour includes a visit to the historic old quarter dominated by Fort Jesus - built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. A fort's museum gives the chance to explore the ancient mosques and residential houses.

This is followed by a visit to the dhow harbour and the bustling “Marikiti” market. The last stop will be Akamba where you can marvel at the skills of the wood carvers. You will return to your hotel before lunch.

 

Full Day City Tour

City TourThis follows the same itinerary as the half day tour but after visiting Akamba you cross the Nyali bridge to the prestigious Tamarind dhow restaurant for lunch.

Afterwards, we visit Haller Nature Park - a former quarry but now home to many species of wildlife. If fortunate, we may see “Owen and Mzee”, two remarkable animals with a dazzling history who reside in the manmade forest.

Full Day Bush Tour

Bush TourEnjoy the opportunity to visit a typical Kenyan coastal villages and dwellings. You will meet the people of this region and see their daily activities.

After a short walk with your local guide you will experience a typical Giriama home, with women pounding and sifting maize. You will then visit mosques, cemeteries and walk among crops such as coconut, cashew nuts and mangoes. You will be able to sample “Ugali” made from the sifted maize and see how the villagers draw water.

Wasini Kisite Dhow

DhowIn the morning you take a dhow to Kisite Marine Park looking out for the dolphins and turtles with a possibility of having a chance to swim amongst these beautiful ocean creatures. A delicious seafood lunch will be served at the restaurant. (Non-seafood or vegetarian menus available on request).

A lazy afternoon in the gardens or a guided walk to the Muslim fishing village (remember to cover up your swimwear for this visit).This is an “ecotourism” tour of which part of the income is directed towards helping the Island children and the village community.

Tamarind Evening Dhow

Evening DhowYour romantic journey aboard an Arab dhow begins by sailing down the Tudor creek in the early evening. Cocktails and appetizers are served as you watch the sunset on the horizon.

Then enjoy a sumptious dinner of fresh seafood or steak. The live band ends the evening with popular music for dancing in this romantic atmosphere.
